Phi Kappa Tau was founded in 1906 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is a national fraternity that fosters three core ideals within its membership: Learning, Leading, and Serving.
Phi Kappa Tau includes over 4,900 undergraduate members and has graduated more than 97,000 initiates over the past 112 years. Of these, the Zeta Zeta Chapter at the University of Illinois Springfield -founded in 2014- has graduated over 35 alumni and has an active chapter of almost 20 members.
Annually brothers have the opportunity to attend a variety of premier leadership and character development conferences through the Fraternity’s Men of Character Programs. We participate in philanthropic activities to benefit The SeriousFun Children’s Network, founded by Paul Newman. Additionally, we believe that community service is an important part of being a good citizen and therefore participate locally and nationally in service events that benefit our school, community, and country.
